dimension setting

juproe

New member
hi everone,

when i create a dimension, it appears with the "properties - value" setted up to
"LIMITS", so that it apperas like:

19.990 - 20.010

i would like to change this setting value to "NOMINAL", so that it will appear like:

20

how can i do?

P.S. i've tried with thw "File --> properties --> drawing options" and with the
"Format" menu, but i didn't successed.

thank you

In your config.pro set the option TOL_MODE to NOMINAL. This will only change NEW dimensions, it is not retroactive to existing dimensions. You can change multiple existing dimensions by selecting as many as you want and changing the properties. ONLY change the tolerance mode, otherwise you will be changing all the dimension values as well.

You can have several config.pro files.

You can have one in the directory text that can be found in the installation directory of ProEngineer.
It can be that this file is not present here 'cause it is not generated by the ProE installation and needs to be created by the ProE administrator.

You can also place a config.pro file in a specific directory. If you start ProE in this directory then the config.pro that can be found (if present) in the directory text in the installation directory of ProE will be loaded first and then the config.pro in this starting directory will be loaded.

Best regards,

John

Hi sohail abbas

I downloaded your file and i put it in the directory where the proe startup file is (i don't know if it is the corret directory where i have to put it): in fact the default setting didn't change...

But following the sequence:

Tools --> options

I found the way to change all the properties (un-sign the "show only.." option),toload the options from your file, and to save another configuration file.

The new configurations options remain as default until the end of the session, but if Iexit and restart proe, I find the original setting...

So I almost solved mytrouble...

thank you very much for the help!

One place to put the config.pro file is in {loadpoint}\text where {loadpoint} is the installation directory - this is also where you install the config.sup file (esentially a config.pro file that can't be altered through ProE).

To check whether you setup the correct directory or not,

Right click on the Pro-E icon>Properties here you will see the path oftheStart In directory,

Now either you can put the Cofig.pro file in this directory or you can change the path of Start In directory.

by doing this you need not to call this file in every session, from Tools>Options

you can also set the drawing setup file location by option>>drawing_setup_file>>now set your desired location here and put complete path, pro will always follow your setup file, u can also manage ur setup file by costumizing it. here is a sample

thank you all!

I found the correct directory following your instructions and now it works!

Thank you,

best regards
