disable automatic orientation

Hello,

I'm not sure what the best place is to post this question, so I'll post it here:

When I'm in insert mode and drag the arrow to different positions in the model tree, ProE moves my part around the sreen, instead of keeping it at the same position without zooming in/out or rotating it. This is quite annoying, especially when I'm going through a model tree to check what specific features do in the part.

Since this has been annoying me from the start and I still haven't found a way to turn it off I hope someone knows how to turn this 'auto orient' off.

Thanks for any help!

Zestje,

Have you considered using the model player to see how the model was built instead of just dragging the insert around? You may discover that some features are buried that might not be self evident when just going to insert mode.

just a thought...

I agree with magneplaner, using the model player (tools>-model player) is a much easier way to see how somebody else developed the model you are using.....One bit of advice, make sure you have datum planes & axes on before you start, otherwise it will look like there is nothing happening during some of the steps.

Thank you! I never thought of that (It didn't occur to me that the model player doesn't auto orient).

How simple it can be ....
