DNA Challenge - Prod Design Forum.

I was reading through some challenges found on the product design forums and came across a DNA model posted by Radge. I thought this would be an interesting model to tackle in pro-e. The top left image confuses me a little, as it seems the helical grows larger as it spirals upwards, maybe this is just depth of field or Perspective effect in Solidworks ? Anyway, from the other views it doesnt look that way.

Anyone fancy having a go in Pro-e ? I think I could model the helical part easy enough

but how would one go about patterning the rods in that form ?

I will have a think about this during my lunch break today.

It would be great to have a simple modelling challenge once per month just like the product design forum does.Nothing serious, anyone can have a go, one item chosen per month and thecreator of the topic pics the final image etc.

If anyone is unfamiliar with the PDF forum, then have a peak : http://www.productdesignforums.com/index.php?showforum=86 As you will see, our very own Bart ( Design-Engine ) has a challenge on there too, but its too complicated for me so I aint gonna bother with that one lol.

ANYWAY... here she is :

Had too many beers last night, feeling fragile this morning.

I thought most of you would of completed this easily and posted. I will have a go today if I get time.

I`ve done that model once again(prevoius pics come from my old investigations - ca 2 years ago).

I prepare new one, and, the ladder entities meet center of helix.

Is that ladder entitiesan individual features or patterned

ladder entities are patterned by Reference Pattern

this picture should give a clue how this model was tuned
