Doubt on template

Hi I am new to pro-e & I don't actually get the concept of templates used in it . What does it actually mean . When I tried a default template instead of empty template in a kinematic analysis the links didn't move . What actually happened here ? .

A template can be thought of as a start part. Generically a template would include: default datums, saved views, parameters, layers.....


If you start as an empty part or assembly there are no default datums, no saved views, no parameters, and no layers the only thing that is set is units.
