Draft groups take a long time to delete

I am working on several drawings for a wiring harness installation on a piece of heavy equipment. I have several snapshots of the machine that I use as a background for views of the wiring harness but I'm having a major problem. The snapshots are relatively small (I can usually grab and group them in one shot without exceding the 12000 item limit), but when I go to delete one of them it will literally take 30mins to an hour to delete. It almost seems like Pro/E is attempting to redraw the snapshot after it deletes a draft entity. Does anyone know if there is a way to disable this so that the delete function does take so long?

i have lived with the same thing as you for a year now not sure what we are doing wrong but the way i go about it is delete the group and the delete lines say 1000 or so at a time Groups suck unless its just a few lines

I feel your pain. Another option is to select everything on the sheet you want to save, send it to a new sheet, and delete the current sheet. This it can do without all the refresh bogging. BTW, you might want to keep selections below 9000 elements, ProE tends to crash unexpectedly with larger selections.

i wonder if that would be a good way to benchmark your pc by selecting 10,000 entities and copying pasting

ya,

I agree with John

I have been doing the same way, the other word around is explode the group and keep selecting small area and delete, but there is always a chance to crash proe, bcos you wont be knowing how many entities u r picking. Go with john.
