drag component issue

Cubano

New member
im trying to dragh a component and i keep getting a "You may not drag a model belonging to the ground body." error

PLEASE HELP!

thanks guys

If you're using a motion skeleton you will typically get that error because you have your design skeleton layer showing instead of your body skeletons. Go to your layer tree. Hide your design skeleton and unhide the datums, curves and start features on each body skeleton.

If you're using ProMechanism I typically received that error because there is one component joint that I have missed.

Remember that even with motion skeletons and ProMechanism at least one component has to be fully constrained and fixed in space. This is your ground component.

i dont think either is the case here. i have my base part fully constrained which is a machines block, then i got a machine shaft which is fully constrained that assembles tothe main block, then a bearing also fully constrained to the shaft and then i got my lever which is partialy constrained. the missing constrain is the one that determinesthe clocking on the shaft and thats the movement i want to drag but i keep getting that sam error. ive done this a bunch of times but this time im having this issue.

i even tried using a pin constraint and once again leaving the rotational contraint unused to leave my part packaged and still get the same error.

thanks for the reply man

Do you have any components assembled after the one that is
supposed to move?

Is the moving part referencing more than component?
Sometimes parts won't move if you pick an axis from one
part for the pin and a plane from another part for the
location constraint.

yes, i have components assembles after the part im trying to drag but its been the same scenario in the past and i was able to drag.

i reconstrained my assembly to only reference 1 component, still the same issue.
