What's the difference between a drawing template and a drawing format? Also which would be the most recommended to use? Thanks.

format is only the border and the title block with the information in it. If you want you may also want to add location grid information into the format which gives the location of the view including the sheet and the grid number

on the other hand template may or may not include a format but additionally you can add views into your template, the BOM, some notes, things like that and also you may have a specific dtl file for the template which helps you to control the settings centrally. I can say templates automates the process up to a level than you can detail the rest

Hi,

I am using D sige template in drawing. Now i want to change this in to C size template can you please tell me how can i change this.

Hi, check if there is any option in config.pro.

There are default template options for sold parts, assembly and sheetmetal etc. There may be an option for default drawing template. Give it a try

Actually you can't set a particular format file to be your default format, but through your config.pro's pro_format_dir optionyou can set adirectory asto store your format files and each time you start a drawing you can select whichever format file you want from within this directory.

I guesshere is the answerto your question.

If you want to use a format file as a default format for your drawings, you should embed it in a template(this is another topic). Set this template as our default templatethrough the config.pro option template_drawing(as Rasul.ghulam)said)and after you go with File>New>Drawing check the Use Deafult Template box, you will see your default template(whichcontainsthe format you wanted in itself)listedin the next menu. You are good to go!
