Dual dimensions in feet and inch

We make all our drawings in metric, but for our American clients, we need to have the dual dimensions in feet and inch, even fractions of inch.


I only can get them into inch or feet, but not 21' 5 7/8" gives either 21.49' or 257.875"


Anybody any idea how to solve this?

hmmm, looks like nobody knows how to get those dual dimensions as our American ustomers want them.

can you give an example of how do you wnat to show them. Maybe I don't understand your problem.

I think this is the option that gives what you need (to change the format to AISC). I tried to change to a drawing but I can't get it to work. Maybe you have more luck.

I think I found why. You have to do some more changes:


Set the part units to be inch.


Then in drawing set "dim_fraction_format" to "AISC"


And "use_major_units" to "yes"


And secondary units to "mm". But you can change this how ever you want with "dual_dimensioning" to be inch/mm, mm/inch. The important thing, I think, is to set the part units to inch.


And now it works.

Thanks to figure out this dimension thing for me !


Just a shame part units need to be modified to inch, as we here draw in mm, but it does the job for our Americans.

could you tell me whether the steps mentioned aboe apply to which version of Proe? I'm using Proe WF2. I set "dim_fraction_format" to "AISC" and "use_major_units" to "yes.


however i am unable to find "dual_dimensioning". I want my major units to be mm and secondary units to me in inches.


In the part model the units are set to "mm".

yes it's for WF2.


To be able to use AISC function I noticed that Ishould set the part units to "inch".


And if you don't find dual_dimensioning in your list, you can add it, on the bottom type dual_dimensioning in "option" field.

To show primary units mm and secondary inch it doesn't matter how you set the part units. In drawing you can show one or another first or second using "dual_dimensioning". (primary/secondary or secondary/primary).
