dxf into pro/e

Hi There Im trying to import a auto-cad dxf into pro/e 2001 student edition, does anyone know how to do this or is there a web page I can visit. Paul

Not sure exactly what you are trying to do, but try this.


Create New Part


(Menu Bar) Insert


Shared Data


From File


And select your DXF


Choose Default Datum - If a start part is used when creating the new part with already specified views - this will make things easier.

Hi sthompson Thanks for the email however what i was trying to do was to create a solid from DXF I got the information I needed from a web site called synthesis engineering services, but It wasnt working so I thought I would give this site a try as it turned out the synthesis site had not mentioned to save the DXF file without spaces Having now done this every thing is now ok, But Thanks very much for your time.
