Hi everyone
I am confronted with the following problem (for further explanation please see the attached simplified picture): a point of a beam is loaded with a impulse force. It is now of interest how long this point A will continue to oscillate an especially which displacement this point has during the oscillation.
As I understand the Pro/E help, I have to do a modal analysis first and afterwards a dynamic time analysis.
I have been able to do both, but the results are not What I expect them to be.
Why do I have to do a modal analysis if I am only interested in the impulse excitation of the body?
Do the loads have to be scaled for a dynamic time analysis?
Is Pro/E able to do what I want?
