ECAD

Hi,
Thanks to everyone for sharing ECAD information on MCAD central. I have started to use ECAD recently, and had moderate success with it. I am able to create the map files, locate the components in correct orientation etc. If I have to change the location of the component how do I do it. The only way I know of doing it is opening the original .emn file and changing the x,y, and angle for that particular component, based on its reference designator. Is there any other way to do it, or is it that only electrical engineer has the right to do it. We are trying to use PADS and Pro E, for ECAD. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
Amit

You should be able to modify the assembly dimensions directly in Pro/E by right clicking on the component and selecting edit.

If you imported the components via ECAD you will get an x,y and z dimension as well as a rotation as per the dimensions in the source .emn file. The z dimension will probably = 0

Thanks a lot, that solved a lot of problems. Now I can move the components and then pass the information to the electrical guy

Thanks
