Edges from parts show through

Hi all, The forum looks great and thsi is my first post. I have a question about the display of some of the parts in an assembly when I select Shaded with Edges. Some of the edges from parts show through the other parts in the assembly, even though tranparency is set to zero. I woudl really like to display them as solid. Any ideas how to change this.

Much appreciated!

Thanks for your suggestion Greg, It didn't do the trick, however. There are still some parts in the assembly with varying degrees of transparency to the edges of the parts behind. Some parts re completely opaque. I have pretty well tried all the system options and nothing seems to help to make all the parts completely opaque. Any other suggestiosn are greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

If you zoom (in or out) the problem is solved ? Because I encoutered the same problem but not at any zoom. If the answer is YES (the problem is solved at a certain zoom) I think that is a litlle bug in SW. If not... sorry, I have no idea.

Thanks Mihail but the zoom doesn't seem to have an effect.I think your suspicion about a s/w bug is probably correct.

One thing you should check is interferences in the assembly. This commonly occurs with threaded holes and fasteners. If there is an interference between two components, SW will not display the edges correctly in that area.

Do a quick check using the interference checker, hopefully that will resolve your display issues.

Maybe it is due to the view mode you are in make suer you are in shaded with edges or just shaded mode, the hidden lines visible and hidden lines removed might be yourt problem? you cahnge thsi under display style..

Thanks skateboardkid for your suggestions. I found that it is related to the part thicknesses. When the thickness of the overlaying part is less than 2X the thickness of the part in behind, the edges of that part show through. Now if I could just figure out how to change this .....

Try

Tools / system options / "Display - Selection"

and set "Part / Assembly tangent edge display" to removed....it worked for me....
