Embedded Symbol in a Text Line

Is there a way to embed a symbol in a text line? As in what is the code to pull a symbol into a line of text.


I thought it used to be: &sym(/nameofsymbolhere). Currently that is not working in Wildfire 3 and I'm wondering if that was even correct.


If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Syntax is &sym(nameofsymbol)


You may need to add the symbol to your drawing.

Yes that worked once I had the symbol added to the drawing. Thank You.


Any way to do it without having the symbol added to the drawing? (I don't think there is but figured I'd ask)

The symbol has to be in the drawing before you can use it in a note. I add about 8 of our most commonly used symbols to the drawing templates so they are always available.

That's what I was going to do but wanted to make sure prior to doing so.
