Embossing curved surfaces

Can anyone please help with instructions of how to emboss text (etc) on a curved surface (eg a cylinder)? I am using and learning ProE Wildfire 4.0.

Thanks allant

Depends on how you want the text to wrap onto or into the surface. Not sure how far you have got so far post pics ?

Create your cylinder. Then offset a surface from it. Create a sketch on that surface and write your text. The select the text sketch, and Project it onto the surface. From that you could then extrude. There are a lot of way though and many different end results.

Search the forum too, the topic has been discussed many times.

Thanks to those who have responded. However I have found that there is no "offset" feature in Edit. How do I now create an offset surface to the curve of the cylinder?

use - "offset with draft feature" and assign your draftangle too. (and start like m-d-e says)
