Error: ’Part’ already exists.

I created a part and it did not work out how I wanted. I saved the part and then deleted it. Now when I try to create a new part with that name it tells me 'part' already exists. I have deleted the old files so they no longer exist, however Pro/E still will not let me create a part with this name. I have restarted my machine and erase not displayed. Can someone help me out with this? Thanks!

Try File<Delete<all versions and type the name of the file you want to delete.


Then Create the new file with the same name.You will be able to create it.

Did you remember to clear part out of the session memory? If not it still resides in memory even if you deleted the part.

You may want to search your template directory and any search path locations you have identified. You can search the directories or drives with your windows explorer search commarnd.
