Exploded Views

Guys I come from Inventor/SolidEge .. have been using Wildfire5 for ~4 months.

I'm trying to do an ISOMETRIC explosion, for use in a Drawing

It appears futile to construct an exploded view in the ASM file, with an intention ofbringing it into the Drawing (y/n?)... It seems the only way is to manage the default explosion as 'custom' one within the drawing's Model Tree ... ie: setting parts to explode/unexplode status & then painstaking selecting component entities as XYZ directions.

This seems a ridiculously difficult process, partly due to the default explode status being the starting point. The def/exp seems to send the parts in every direction ... consequently, with no perspective, it's difficult to realise whether are in-font or behind.

Why can I not begin with all Parts in their respective 'unexp' positions, & simply drag along an XYZ axis to the desired position & hit the ok button?

Many thanks in advance

you can in the model select an edge and move parts in that direction then just pick another edge or plane and move those parts. Also, there is a move many and move object with parent or children so all mounting screws and so on, while it may not be as easy some software, its not all that difficult either.

Yes Gary .. I realise how to explode the Model Assy...
But this cannot be introduced to the Drawing.

... or am I missing something?

In my assembly file i create the exploded view how i want it, then save it with whatever name you have, i usually save the view orientation also. then in the drawing i bring in the view with the saved orientation, then go to view states and in the box that says 'Assembly explode state' click on your saved exploded view. The view should update to what your model looks like.
