Export from Workspace problem

SrGilberto

New member
I often like to export a whole design package from my workspace into a folder on my harddrive. But I am not able to do it with this installation of Intralink (it worked with an earlier version of intralink).I end up having to bring up all my drawings in Pro/E and doing a backup to the backupfolder. It would be so much easier if I could export everything from my workspace.

We use Pro/e WF-2.0 with Intralink 3.4

Has anyone else had this problem?Does anyone know how to correct the problem?

It attempts to (andsuccessfully) writes a few files, but not all, into the specified folder and then it stops and posts an error message. After I click the OK button (the only selection possible) it ends the process.

Someone told me I didn't have write access to the folder. But I know I do. It's a folder I created on my own harddrive. Plus it successfully writes some of the files. Someone else suggested I should look at the preferences to see if there is a setting for such things. I've looked ... can't find anything related to the problem.

It will export parts and assemblies. It's just the drawings that will not export. What's up with that?

I am using Intralink 3.3 with WF2 and have experienced similar problems.

Is the relationship type set to "ALL" (I think that ALL is the default) when you do the export?

Try setting it to "REQUIRED" (or "NONE"), when I do that it works OK. If the relationship is set to ALL it will try to drag in loads of other stuff that probably isnt even in your workspace and it falls over

I almost always select everything in my workspace and export it to a local harddrive folder. I do this so I can create a .zip file to e-mail acomplete designto our local prototype manufacturer and this way they get everything they need.

Because I select everything in the folder, I do not have to have the relationships set to "all" or "required". I always set it to "none". I still have a problem. But the strangest thing is that I can export parts and assemblies (and even formats) but it has trouble exporting drawing files.

Isn't that strange? I'd appreciate anysuggestions/assistance I can get.

I had same problem with Intralink 3.3 & WF. Solution to my problem was to reinstall WF to the same folder Intralink was instaled to. During WF instalation at one point you need to specify folder where you want WF instaled do not pick default WF directory that program offers. Instead pick same directory where Intralink is installed. That should solve your problem.
