family table

Ok yet another color question

We have large family tables of hardware like I'm assuming most big companies do. so if i need a nut or bolt i have MS charts and pull a dash condition that fits my needs. My problem arises when i have different colors in the family table. Specifically wire lug connectors and there shield isolation color. I'd like my models to reflect the correct color when i choose the dash condition that i need. But i can't seem to figure out if i can make the view color a parameter.

When I was at Lucent Technologies in 1998, I filed a SPR with PTC to assign colors to family table instances.

I haven't seen any updates for that SPR yet.

Don't holdyour breath. <SMILE>

This was adressed a few months ago i believe. Someone suggested,

'Offset surface of the whole part by let say .001, add color to this surface and than use surface as a feature in family table. Create as many offset surfaces as colors needed'
