file vaults in read only mode

I am now getting an error on checkin "Database and File Vaults in Read Only mode". I have verified that all vaults are read/write from the admin tool in intralink. I have verified that there is space on each vault using DSMU. What I suspect is the cause, yesterday I was attemping to move a remote vault from a unix server to a PC server [I have done this on another site with no problems] and got a TK error that a variable [sorry do not remember the name but it had to do with getting vault size] was not found. I was trying to run this through a VPN [previous attempt was not done using a VPN]. Is there a state set that was not unset? I have tried to restart the intralink server. Any help would be appreciated.

PTC returned my call and we found that the server had been set to read only while the Admin status showed read/write. Using the DSMU, Backup/Restore->Fileservers Read/Write Mode to set it correctly. This worked fine.

During backup intralink have to set database in readonly mode or shut down the database. Check it the backup have fail.
