does anyone know if it's possible to perform a 'filling' function in soldiworks and extract the fill as a body for use in ANSYS? (Eg a simple bucket structure, fill the structure to produce a 'fill' body)
I don't know of a direct way (i.e. single-click) but what I would probably do is once your "bucket" is modeled, create a new "feature" within it that "fills" the bucket with the volume that you need, but as you extrude the volume, make sure you de-select (un-check) the option for "Merge result". This new feature can then be used as you wish. Edited by: joelewinski
