"Find Component" error in Pro-E

Hi All,

When I open Big Assemblies, I used to get a error as "Quick fix-> Find component"

Is anyone aware of this error?. I do know that, this error can be avoided by checking-out the respective P/N from Intralink to workspace. However, after modifcation & check-in of the assy, if I check-out the same assy in different workspace then again I'm getting same error.

Can any one help me to fix this error permanently?.

Thanks in advance.

You have a part in the assembly which isnt located in any of your "parts" directories ? Basically you have to tell pro-e each time where to locate it. Move the part into the correct place.

Try deleting the part from your assembly and then reassembling it, save and check in. Check out to new workspace and see if it works.

I seem to have this problem when using Bulk Items and then the Bulk Item is modified and for whatever reason it loses its reference to the assembly and has to be deleted and reassembled.

Hope this helps.

I do think there is a bug with 'find' components even if you are using Intralink. What we normally have to do (through experience) is clip suppress the assy; open up the part (generic AND instance if it's an instance) and then resume last set. We have to do this every time with the affected assembly. It doesn't happen often but I am aware of it.

I suppose you might have renamed the part. make sure you rename the part with the main assembly always opened , Now for this issue you have to again rename the part to original name when this part were assembled (this name will appear in the prompt window of find components)...

Note- you have to rename the part directly on the working directly itself.

sh*ty case anyway

but, You have a little chance to get out of this rabbit hole...

the problem that usually happens is the part fetched from - somwhere, has a little different name. Pro\e in Quick Fix does not give a chance to Replace but, ... it is possible

in Resolve mode > Fix Model > Component > Adv Utils > Replace
