Don't know if this is of any use; was looking for a way to find referencing assemblies, drawings, etc. without any sort of document managment software.

The attached bat file uses the DOS findstr command. To find parts, assy's, drawings that reference mypart.prt open a system window and type "findref mypart". It will search the current and sub-directories and write the list returned to a file where_used_mypart.txt and then run the list to screen. If it should hang ctrl+c aborts.
If anyone knows a better way.... please do.
