Flexible Mates is Sub-Assemblies?

Hello,

I am working on an assembly that contains a few sub-
assemblies. Some components in the sub-Assemblies will
move based on the position of other sub-assemblies in the
main assembly. I would like to make a "flexible mate" if
possible, where I can adjust the component's (within the
sub-assembly)position in the main assembly, without it
effecting the components position if I were to open the
sub-assembly by itself(as this will effect the sub-
assemblies drawing and other assemblies it is in).

I've always done this using family tables, with the variable dimensions in the table.
