Can someone point me in the right direction if I want to analyze contact stresses in gear meshes. I understand you have to create the gears as simple cylinders, but have no clue what sort of constraints, etc to apply. Is it possible to analyze stresses due to motion and contact of gears in pro/Mechanica Wildfire 2.0 ?
It would be ideal to be able to simulate the motion of all the gears in a gearbox for a certain period of time, and view all the resulting stresses. I understand how to use gears in pro/Mechanism well, but its the stresses here I'm looking for. It is desired to perform a fatigue analysis if such a thing is possible.
