Graphics driver

I have a new HP n9440 mobile workstation. It has the nvidia quadro fx 1500m 512mb graphics card. I am using proe 2001 with a move to wf3 within the next few weeks. I need to finish a current project before the switch. My issue is with large assemblies. The graphics are worse than my old system which was an HP nw800 with a 64mb graphics card. I went to the ptc website and found a recomendation for a graphics driver. It calls for a driver version 84.64 with my hardware configuration. Despite my best efforts I am unable to locate this driver.

Make sure you have not installed any third party mouse drivers. I installed Intellipoint on my brand-new HP nw9440 last May, and had nothing but grief with the graphics when running SW. After uninstalling it (and using the default Windows mouse drivers), everything works great. Never use any third-party mouse drivers with any CAD software.

I advise extreme caution with graphics drivers on any platform, esp. a mobile workstation orany computerthat has an integrated graphics chipset. These are highly configured systems, and any deviationfrom the factory installed software may be tragic. If you have to change drivers, use only those drivers specifically approved by the CAD vendor for your release of the software - which may not be the latest version of the drivers available. Even then, I wouldn't install anything on your new machine without HP's specific blessing. Be sure to contact them regarding your problem: they probably already have all the answers and will be happy to help you get your new computer working right with one of it's intended applications.
