Gtols layer

What is the name of the layer that you use so proe will automaticly
would put gtols on a layer. ie if you create a layer called DATUM then
every datum that is created will go into that layer automatic.

When creating the layer, select the "Rules" tab. Then select "Edit Rules". Change the "Look for" to "Geometric Tolerance". I don't believe it really matters what name you give it.

Well, the reason I asked was because when I created a layer and named it DATUM, ProE automatic put all the datums and axis into that layer. I didn't have to set the rules. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

Hmm on what ProE are you?? WildFire 2011 Voyager edition?

I have never see that ProE would do something automated like this, either you have part template set to automatically put datums on datum layer, when you create one, but I don'treally know how this would be possible without rules???

Can you upload picture of layer properties?

Does that make you feel smarter or something? Nobody likes a wise ass.

This is what I've seen with my own eyes, I don't make this sh*t up. I
did this and that is what happened, I can't explain why because at the
time I just figured that is the way it works. It happened when I was
setting up the model template. This was time ago.

You know, people come here to get answers to questions no matter how
simple they may seem to others. I really doubt that they want to read
some jackasses response trying to make himself feel one notch above
another.

You may not have meant it that way but can you really say that? just
look at what you typed and tell me that if the version of Wildfire is
some kind of super duper bubble plasic release really going to help
with my question? mmmm Thought not.

Well It was a joke, nothing more.

I also didn't apply that you make this up, just saying that there must be more things going around what happened to your automatic layer creation.
If this is possible to create layer, name it datums, and all datum feature would be automatically in it, then this is something we all want to know how?, because then it would ease our job to.

This was the reason I asked you for picture (if you are allowed to post picture, and if you want to upload picture), so we all can figure it out how this work.

As for right reply to your question, Appinmi has answered the only way I know how to add Gtols to layers (except manually picking), so there was nothing more to addon his post.

Hope things are now more clearly!

I know about the rules, its just for things like DATUMS and other very common features I was on the assumption, because of what happened with the DATUM layer I created, that there was some intelligence their.

I get the curiosity to find out how this happened and I think I'm going to have to do some searching on what happened. But as far as the joke, I don't get it. Maybe it was the delivery.

I'll tell you what, I'll find out what the hack is going on here with the whole layer thing and I'll post my findings. I'll have to go back on my notes when I set this place up with all the templates.

The joke was about WildFire 2011 Voyager edition, applying on Star Trek Voyager, the rest of post I didn't explain as I should, as I did in mynest post.

Try to figure it out what happens and share with us what you find. I'm really interesting in this layer creation, and it would be great if it is possible to create layers this way. Good thing you have notes, something I should also start practicing

Ok, I see what I did. I forgot that I set the config.pro option "def_layer" to "layer_axis DATUMS". So when I created my layer after the fact, It auto prompt to have it coverted to a rule automatic.

I just didn't put the two together back then.
