heavy assembly

Hi folks!

Themodel I am working on is a machine conisting of many parts that are assembled on a complex plastic panel (~8000 surfaces).

The problem is, when I work in the assembly, the panel is highlightet as soon I move the mouse over it (all contoures are highlighted in red). This process is quite unneccessary, and VERY time consuming. It makes it almost impossible to work with the model.

Does anyone know how I can turn this function off? On solution could be that it only the machineparts CAN be selected, and the panel is considered as dead.

Regards,

Olaf

P.S. I tried to shrinkwrap the panel, but it looks horrible thenm so that is not reallya good idea.

Did u check the selection filter in extreme right in bottom?? always set it as soon as you open the part to anotations. Best way is to make a mapkey for this (means to set selection filter at anotations). After that you can make a button for this mapkey or push mapkey directly after you open any part or assy. I had control this problem by this way.

Edit> select> preferences remove the "preselection highlight" tab

In my case I'll probably deselect the "preselection highlight" because I still want to be able to select parts.

This can also be controlled by setting the config file option PREHIGHLIGHT to NO.

the default will then be not to highlight objects.

I like the idea with the config file.

I wonderhowit isread by ProE, is it read for the whole session (all parts and assemblies i open) or is it possible to define a config file ONLY for a speciel assembly? I still want to be able to open subassemblies with standardconfiguration.

Setting the config option becomes the default way that proe will start, but the option can be changed at anytime through the EDIT->SELECT->PREFERENCES menu item.
