Helical Sweep along a path

Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out how to model a helical sweep that is constructured along a path (open path - consisting of a number of curves). Can anyone help me with this as I'm pretty stuck. I know how to create a helical sweep, but have no idea how to do so in conjunction with a path...

If anyone out there could shed any light in the way of an explanation or link to such I would really appreciate it.

Thanks then

Mikey

create a variable section sweep (surface) along your trajectory;

The sweep should be a line length(sd0)sketched at an angle (sd1) to a plane or centreline through the end of the trajectory.

The length should be radius sd0 of helical sweep

The angle should be sd1*360*trajpar*no of rotations.

The next feature can be swept down the outside of the helical surface.

Send your trajectory / curves if youre unsure

kirancitd,

I think you might have missed the requirement of 78 finn......

the link you posted uses a helical sweep which is not suitablefor 78 finns requirement (s)

this is because a helical sweep only follows a linear trajectory.

maybe the second part of the feature is relevant though.

a variable section feature can be constructed to make a helical sweep along a non linear trajectory.
