helical sweep around a contour hose

I like to make a helical sweep around a hose generated in piping .


hose generated in piping doesn't have an axis or curves, hose follows a contour path at different direction which do not have any reference curve or axis bcoz it is created in assembly(piping) mode. I would like to know a method to wound the hose with protective coil kind ofprotrusion..
