Help cutting flowpath geometry into part

Hi Folks,
I am having trouble. I have been trying to add the flowpath geometry from a separate file into an assembly to "cut" another part to the flowpath (So I can update the flowpath file and the cut will update). The flowpath is shown in green in the photo, and the part I would like to cut to the flowpath (I want the ID to go from square to the flowpath contour) into is grey. I have included the files and the assembly file I am trying to do this in, can someone help me figure this out in wildfire 4.0? Thank you!

I don't have access to it right now but I think from the way you have things setup you might try merging the flowpath geometry into the part you want it cut from using the merge/inheritance feature. I think you can then try selecting the flowpath surface and use the solidify tool to remove material from the part.

I think I understand the thought process you have, and thank you for responding! If I understand the methodology you outlined I use a feature called merge/inheretence to "import" the flowpath geometry. Once imported into the assembly, I use the solidify tool (Where is this located?) to remove material from the part (The part I want to remove is below the flowpath so that the ID of the outer case inherets the flowpath geometry. Am I correctly stating your process, and do I have to do this in a part file or an assembly file? Currently I am trying to do this in an assembly where I bring the flowpath in and the case in to the file and use the constraints to align them, and trying to go from there... Thanks!

Hi,
Since I am new to this, what steps did you take to get to cutting this away? I am away from my PRO E right now and will look at the files when I get home. Thank you so much!

The process was done at the part level. The merge/inheritance feature is located under the Insert>Shared Data menu. I also hadto split the sketch into two sketches one for the case and one for the spinner. Select Edit>Solidify and select the remove materialicon and the direction for materal removal.

Here are some pictures of the process for the case. The yellow arrow shows the direction of material removal.
