rads or less!!!!!!

it makes translations a mess.

so here i am working on a part imported thru .step from SW and some retard (i'm sorry but what else can you say) has modeled in a bunch of .002 rads.

and of course these translate for crap so now i will spend hours fixing rads that have no reason to be there!!!

note to those who don't know::: it's almost impossible to machine a sharp corner so showing a .002 rads is a waste of time!!!!!

BTW this happens way to fuggin often and i'm sick of it!!!

okay i fell better now.

so do you want us to put a note on the drawing saying file all edges to a .002 rad?

there really is no need but you can if you would like?? did you not understand that when machining you can't get a sharp fillet anyway and is prolly more than a .002 rad??

a corner could be sharp after machining but still drawing in a rad (unless your part .050 square) of less than .005 just makes no sense.

BTW i've not worked with a drawing in 10 years.....just sayin.

I cant speak for whoever created your files but we often use small rads just to break the corners for rendering. We realise that there is no such cutter size but that isnt the point. Your renderings look much better if there are no sharp corners.

I agree with you. What I do sometimes is make my corners square on the model and on the drawing I have a note Machined Corner Radii .005 Max. Some like it and other don't so...

make 2 files, one for rendering (you could use simpified rep for this) and one for export.

i just did a split that should have taken 20 minutes but took 3 hours and 20 minutes cause i had to fix (delete and recreate) 20 tiny rads.

oh the horror!!!
