Hidden line removal for threads

multin

New member
Hello all,

I've always had problems with getting threads to look good on drawings, but usually I manage to get it right or at least accepable with some random fiddling.

However, for this particular drawing the mess is too much for me... All threads are visible, even the ones that should be hidden.

I don't think I did anything wrong in the 3D model... just some standard threaded holeslike I always use...

Hi, Multin,

You can also put all the cosmetic threads on a layer and hide them in what ever view you dont want to show them. The cosmetic threadscan automatically be transfered to a layer as you create holes by assigning it Hole_feat.

wish you all the best.

The correct way to control thread display in drawings is via your drawing_setup.dtl with

"hlr_for_threads" "YES"
"thread_standard" "STD_ANSI_IMP_ASSY"

thread standard has multiple settings. The one listed works the way I want it to

Tazbaby's comment is analogous to the one-eyed leading the blind. He obviously never does assembly sections through threads
