Hidden sub-assembly will not stay hidden

wali

New member
I am using WF2 and when I open my assembly, I have a sub-assembly that is hidden. I then unhide it and save. When I call it up again, it is hidden. I have even checked it into Intralink, started a new workspace, it always comes up hidden.

Is there anyone that can help?

Thanks

Wali Crawford

Lodox systems, South Africa.

in the model tree

->show

then on the "layers"

rmb -> save layer status

then save the part

OH do this after u have hidden what ever it is you want to hide.

... or View Menu, Visibility, Save Status if you find it easier.

Might anyone be able to tell me;
While working in an assembly I change visiblity of a part feature. What is necessary to make that change permanent? I think it's necessary to open the part, save status, etc. Is that correct?

Thanks for the suggestions.

I tried saving layer status with the sub-assembly unhidden.

It still comes back hidden.

Must be a corrupt part or a bug.

wali,

Try adding to this to your config display_layer in option and set the layer id as value, i think it will work.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, is it a 1st level or 2nd level sub? (If you are working in assy_01 which contains sub_01 and sub_01 contains sub_01a, is it sub_01 or sub_01a that is giving you problems?)

Hi Jeff

The problem is still there and it is a 1st level sub-assy. When I open the top assembly, a sub-assembly is hidden.

I tried going to the hidden list in the layers, unhide and save status - still no luck.

How did u hide the sub assy???
after making hide or unhide any part or sub assy go to
veiw>>visibility>>save status
and this will not occuring again

Yes, that should work.

I'm sorta wondering about (and just grasping for straws) "going into the hidden list in the layers". I very seldom use the layer list to toggle visibility of objects in the "Hidden" layer and am wondering if there might be a "synch" problem or some kind of goofy conflict.

Wali,
Have you tried simply selecting the sub assembly in the model tree (must be 1st level, e.g. can't be a nested entity to the best of my knowledge), RMB, Unhide, Save Status, Save model, Close, Erase from memory, Open...?

Thanks for all your help.

When I opened up the assembly this morning, all is OK.

All I did to it on Friday was I redifined the assembly constraints and it did not hide itself again.
