HLR for quilts in section view

I searched for an answer to this problem, but didn't really find anything that helped me.

I have parts that have been brought into Pro/E from IGES files. In a drawing, these show up as purple lines (surfaces, I guess). For basic views I'm able to turn "Hidden line removal for quilts" on and this gets rid of the unwanted purple lines, but this option is grayed out for section views. Is there a way to hide these lines in a section view?

Select the import feature and hide it. You can also add the import feature to a layer and hide the layer.

You need to cut the cross-section through "Model & Quilts". You will have to re-create your cross-section to select this option. And make sure you have "Remove quilts in total x-sec" set to yes in your DTL file. Then you should be able to seld "HLR for quilts".

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies. ehorton, where is the "Model & Quilts" option? I have the "Remove quilts in total x-sec" option set to "yes", but I don't see the "Model & Quilts" option when I'm creating my section view. I'm on WF3.

The "Model & Quilts" option isunder the XSEC OPTS when you create a cross section using theView Manager in part mode.

I am having a similar problem. I tried the X section in view manager, but when I go to the drawing, the "whole" quilt (purple outlines) is removed. I sill need the other half of the surface/or quilt that was removed. This is an assembly that I am trying to section. Anyway around this or was theimported files I got flawed?

Looking at the X section in assembly mode, the partthe section isremoving looks like it is just hollowed out in the shaded view. But in hidden line view it appears uncut/unchanged in asseembly mode. The other parts of the assembly appear as they should.

Hidden line removal is known as not working in X-section views containing quilts which usually come with vendor parts.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Here is the solution for that offered by Ptc

In order to enable the HLR settings for X-section views (by the view settings or by the default settings with config.pro option 'hlr_for_quilts

Thanks alibahadir!

I have a external inheritance feature in my model and it has some surfaces and quilts that i am not able to change. If i right click on the "surface" feature in the model tree it just gives the info about the feature and does not allow me to change anything. how can i hide or edit those surfaces in the drawing?.i changed 'hlr_for_quilts
