Hole Colors---hole wizard

Hi,

Is there a way to edit the hole wizard templates so that when certain hole types are created, they are a certain color?

How about a macro that will search the part for certain hole types, then change the color of the hole to a certain color.

This is needed to correlate the hole types with the cam software programming template

Here is what I've found out:

According to the reseller, there is no way to edit the hole wizard templates to include colour. (I find this very hard to believe, but anyway....)

As far as colouring the holes after they are created, he just suggested selecting multiple instances of hole types in the part tree and then using the colour toolbar button to alter the colour...mass modify.

We were also having a problem with holes showing colour in Solidworks, however, when exported as iges, the colour no longer exists.

(This prolly should be on a separate post, but here is what was discovered.)

The reason the hole colour was not being exported was due to the fact that during the hole creation using hole wizard, the option selected was cosmetic thread.

For whatever reason, if you chose the other 2 options while creating the holes, the iges export was fine, and the colours showed up properly.

However, what was discovered was that even with "cosmetic thread" selected as the hole option in the hole wizard, pressing CTRL+Q (forced rebuild) before iges out the part, the hole colour appears as desired!

This is the first time I have ever heard of CTRL+Q. What's even more interesting, is that just pressing the rebuild button on the toolbar has ZERO effect, you must press CTRL+Q!

Anyway, hopefully this has also helped someone else. It sure has helped me, because for the longest time, I couldn't use my macro in Powermill to perform drilling functions correctly due to the fact that too often the hole colours were void.
