Hole Tool: Other Hole Sizes?

The Hole Tool is handy, but seems to have some serious limitations. I'd like to be able to tweak the fit of a particular hole for a given screw size (beyond the limits of 'close', 'medium' and 'free' fit), but this does not appear to be an option. Is there a config.pro setting that 'ungrays' the hole size value?

Try setting the config.pro option hole_diameter_override to yes.

Check in the proewildfire\text\hole folder. There are hole files. Copy one to your Pro_stds folder, and change it. Set the config.pro option hole_parameter_file_path to point to the file that youve modified. The parameter hole_series in the file is the one that will be displayed in proE. Change that to the same as you new hole file.

Thanks, kdem. Yeah, I just want to be able to change the hole size when I want to, not change the default values.


Naturally, this is one of the many hidden config.pro options that users may want to use, but PTC thinksmost users are stupid (do not realize drills come in sizes), so they try to makeit difficult to change.
