everyone,

I require some help in GD&T placement.

I woulde like the GD&T to ALWAYS appera under the dimension line as shown

but whenever I pull the dimension out, the GD&T will be

attached to the dimension line as show below.

Is there anyway to have in under the dimension line other than using free position

Thanks in advance

What version are you using? Do you attach the GD&T at the part level or the drawing level?

We are using Wildfire 2.0. Weattach the GD&T to the dimension at the drawing level using the Create Geometric Tolerance dialog box. It doesn't do that in wildfire 2.0.

Hi Steve,

Im using WF2, for this particular example, it is created on the drawing level.

Its the same for me whether I do it in drawing or part level. I am sure there is

an option that lets me move it down the dimension line.

Cheers

Try going into your drawing DTL file and scroll down to"Theseoption control geometric tolerancing"when searching by category and changing "gtol_dim_placement" to "under_value" instead of "on_bottom". Not sure if it will work, but give it a shot. Hope this helps.

Hi ehorton,

I tried but does not solve my problem,

the "under"/"on" is the position relative to addition text.

Thanks for the pointer.

I don't understand what you are trying to say. If you place the dimension with "normal leader" you can not get what you show in second post. If you place with type "dimension" it will show like your second post. However, when you drag the dimension to the side it will revert to the leader line attached to the middle of the gtol.

Does this happen on all of your drawings all of the time. Or just this file.I'm on wildfire 2.0 and I can't duplicate the problem. Could you post your drawing options

, checked out the config settings including the hidden config list available from www.proengineertips.com none available. Sorry if I have mislead the contributors here.

Free position is the only way.
