How to show dimensions in 3D model mode?

gggggggggg

New member
Hello all.

I'm using Pro/E WF3.0. I have a simple assembly, a block and a dowel pin. The dowel pin is assembled into a hole in the block, and the top of the pin is 1/2" from the top of the block.

I want to show that 1/2" dimension, in the assembly (3D) mode, then save the image as a .jpg or do a screen capture. How do I do this?

I seem to remember, when WF2.0 came out, that there was a new 3D Drawing functionality. Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks,

Greg

Thanks Miko,

I have already tried that method. It is not exactly what I want, as you cannot control the size of the arrow heads, or the location of the extension lines.

It is close, but not quite right.

Nobody knows anything about 3D Drawings?

From what I can tell, that is the same as the Annotation method. You still have no control over where the dimension is placed in the model, or other things such as arrow head size, ect...

Well I think, I'm not 100% positive, but Annotations are 3D drawings, so there aren't any other way to add dimensions in model, except annotations.
You can control it's size if you select annotation, properties, and there you can manipulate with it's height, you can move it etc.
Arrow style I think that you can change it over config options, but I didn't check.

Note: after you create annotation, make sure you create one layer and put them in layer, because they would be visible in drawings, asm and parts.
