how to subtract

Hello there!

I' m trying to find how to subtract one part from an other in pro
engineer. I want to subtract an irregular shape from a cylinder
to make a hole. How can i do it?

Thanks, dina.

Are they separate parts (models)?

If they are, put them in an assembly to perfom the edit>merge (cut-out).

Another method is to copy the surface geometry you wish to cut out from the one part into the other and use the gopy geom surface to perform the cut (insert>data-sharing>copy geom)

Hi,

You can do it using insert<Shared Data<cutout from other model.in this you can assemble the other part the way you want it and create the cutout.
