How to wrap a jpeg onto a surface...

Guys,

I have a decal (probably with some color blending) that
we would like to show applied onto a curved surface.

I can do the offset for sketches and whatnot. Has
anybody had any luck placing actual color artwork on a
surface? I'm on Wildfire5...

The native format will probably be JPEG or PDF or some
other non-MCAD friendly format.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Texture map in Appearance Manager. What release? It changed a bit from 4.0 to 5.0.

Yep,

Absolutely correct.

I had to goof with it pretty extensively, but the
capability is there. Maybe someone knows how to do it
faster better?

My noob method:
Open your part you want the decal on
Appearance Gallery
Click the grey color, NEW
name it, "decal_test"
click Map tab
click box under Decal
open image file on your system "my_pretty_decal.jpg"

Attach that to a surface (offset in my case)
Appearance gallery
Edit Model appearance
Map tab
Grab the eyedropper in the upper right corner
Click the decal surface
Click the little green Box/Sphere icon in Decal
That will open a dialogue box to position and size

A little convoluted but it works great!
