why wouldn't we just use acrobat? Plus I do everything in Illustrator anyway. I would never buy tools like this.

Acrobat (the full blown version) costs a bundle & has turned into bloatware. There are lots of free PFD creators out there that are much easier to use. So the question becomes, why would you pay for any PDF creator? They must offer some value to someone. Kind of like, there is free CAD so why would you buy the high dollar stuff?

Another reason not to use Acrobat is the crippling bugs that cause it not to work. Ever since I upgraded to 9 Pro Extended this error message pops up and it closes:

The workarounds are hit and miss. The last one I tried was to delete the updater file. We'll see how long that lasts.


This has been aknown bugfor awhile now. Adobe can't seem to come up with a permanent solution. I know some of you like to complain about Pro/E's functionality, but can you imagine if there was a bug that shut it done completely. Everybody would be up in arms. No wonder Adobe is going out of business. When your flagship product that you built your entire enterprise around now can't even stay open, you've got problems.
