Identical parameters in 1 drawing

Loki

I am creating drawing formats for my company, in which I need to display a (part/file) number twice using a custom parameter &part_number. I have one big table and a smaller one containing this parameter. Now when I start up a drawing from a part, pro/e asks me twice to enter a value for this parameter. This of course isn't the way I'd like it to work... I only want to enter the value once. Can I in some way crosslink or autocopy the parameter value?

Hi,

Had the same problem once when i was working on programming. I sorted it out by making the two inputs(Drawing number and component number)as a part of the parameter in the asm mode and use there parameters in the format.

Try to do the same if it is ok.

Maybe there is a better solution.

Loki, as suggested, put the parameters into your start part and start assy rather than in the drawing. Let the drawing pull the info from the model...

yes dross is right.

make the parameter available in your part or assembly, enter the value in the part or asm mode. the drawing will pull it automatically.

I understand why this should work, but since new product id numbers are created whole the time in my company this will be more work than just filling in the id number when asked for. On the other hand, the number is carried with the part, so in the end it'll be a more efficient procedure
