IGES point cloud to surface or solid

I have a IGES point cloud and i need to convert it to a surface or a solid in Pro/e.

What software would you recommend?

Thank you,

Boris.

If you are doing it in Pro/E then you would use REX, Reverse Engineering Extension. If it is a simple model you could use standard pro to recreate the model using the points as references.

We received a quote from PTC and they are saying that the REX plugin is ~$15K. That is just too much money for this kinda software. I am sure REX does more than take points and convert them into a surface but that all we really need at the moment.

Are there any 3rd party applications?

Thank you,

Boris.

if you don't have 15K laying around... take a look at the ibl file format...

guess it depends on what method was used to scan.... sections... like from a cnc mill with a probe... or just one big mess of points
