Hi pro/e expert,

urgent help needed!!!the situation is like this:

before using Pro/e, i'm using Autocad mechanical 2006 to design parts. Now my company purchase a new software (Pro/e WFII) and i had a lot of problem especially the case below:

the part consist of 3 items, 2 items is provided by the supplier (Autocad DXF format).I can only start design my part after i receive the 2 drawing from the supplier. The 2 drawing provided will be my design reference(in 2D dxf format).

Question:

1. Can i import 2d part into pro/e PART and start my design? What is thefaster wayto do it?

2. while i design, i need to refer to the TOP, FRONT AND LEFT VIEW in the 2 drawing provided by the supplier. It means when i hit the front view in pro/e, i can see the front view from the drawing i import into the pro/e as my design reference.can it be possible?

the fastest way I've found to do this is to move a known datum in ACad to 0,0, resave as dxf(no spaces) then use insert/shared data/ from file and select aknown coordinate system (where you want 0,0 fom ACad to be).. done!

For the last part the only way I can think of is to import same file once for each view and strip out the views not relevant.

You may want to look into using autobuildz..
