Interchange + BOM balloons

I have a large assembly that swaps out different models using Pro/PROGRAM and an interchange. I want to use a repeat region to create a BOM for whatever configurations I program, but when I interchange out a component, I lose the attachment of the balloon. Is there a fix?

Also, When the parts are interchaged back and forth, the curves show up. (Layers are blanked and saved)

I am using Wildfire 2.0.

It is not surprising that you lose the balloons and I doubt there will ever be a fix because how would Pro/E be expected to know where you want the balloons attached to potentially totally different components.

Why on earth are you interchanging components back and forth in the same drawing? Most users would use one drawing per configuration, save the DRAWING layer status and be done with it.

We have the same issue, the only way we have found to solve this issue is to set your model to have the component and do a BOM ballon for each instance. The next time you switch back to that part you 'should' get your balloon. This is a pain to do but as long as you define one time it should work from then on.

I think I have an answer. Basically bury the interchange one subassembly level, and create a surface to attach the balloon to in the upper level assembly. Manipulate the BOM using filters, etc. So far, so good.

We are using a product configurator in conjuntion with Pro/PROGRAM to generate multiple designs, and the goal is not to touch a drawing once it is set up.
