Internal Datums

I received a Skeleton model from the customer which contains numerous datum planes and Co-Ordinate systems. For defining some of the CS, they have used invisible datum planes. The info window of these planes are like this:

It is very obvious from the attribute settings that these planes would be invisible. But my question is, why I do not get this option of of attribute settings for any other datum planes created by me? I have also tried to insert above highlighted two lines in "Edit Program" but could not succeed in making them invisible. Can some one help me out? Thanks in advance.

What version of ProE are you using and what version was
the skeleton made in?

You dont make "internal" datums anymore, you can make
"embeded" datums but they show up differently in the
program.

Currently WF 2.0 is being used. But I guess, these programs were written for Pro/E 2001 or for earlier versions.

One more thing, from coming May onwards, our customer is moving to WF 4.0. Do they have to do any changes in the program?

Early versions of Pro/E had the Make Datum option which was a precursor to the Embeded plane the are both created on the fly but now a [||] pause button is used and these datums are able to be shown which was not possible before. Since Wildfire now has the ability to hide show geometry or references planes these planes that were once forced to be invisible and possibly could be selected with the Sel By Menu functionality can now be used. It may be possible to still create them from Legacy mode.

Prior to the new PAttern tools like pattern by Axis or by Direction Pro/E could only pattern features with dimensions so MAke datum offset distance or angle planes were used as Sketch orientation or placement planes to allow the dimension to be used for patterning.

On the fly objects in WF 2 were "grouped" with the
feature, On the fly objects in WF3 and newer are
"embedded" with the feature.

FYI datums-on-the-fly cannot be reused when they are grouped within a feature. PTC originally said that you would be able to reuse them. You have to take the datum out of the grouped feature and make it standalone. Which defeats the object of a 'make-datum-on-the-fly' really. You may as well just create a datum feature which is what the datum becomes after it is ungrouped anyway.

I use grouped datams all the time. you just have to pick them out of the tree since they are hidden. You can also unhide them and use them. I am on WF4.
