Intersecting parts in a drawing

Hey Everybody,

In an assembly drawing, I have intersecting parts. In
reality these parts are cut to size on site but I cannot
change this on my drawing.

So in my assembly drawing where parts are intersecting
and where geometry from one part is inside another part I
get distortion and lines are missing.

Is there any way to overcome this problem?


Any help or guidance on this problem would be greatly
appreciated

Only one way I can think of.
Make a family table in the cut part so you can retain the models the way they are dimensioned.
Make a family table in the asm and "configure" the part in the family instance.
Replace or add the asm family member (depending on your needs) the model in the drawing with the family instance that has the cut.

Faking it will make a mess.
Hope this works for you.

Chris, thanks for the advice, much appreciated but i was
hoping there was an option i could toggle to make this
work. I didnt want to have a standard part and one with a
cut, it would just add to the already large amount of
confusion!

So who is Noel Farrell??? nobody by that name where i work
buddy!

Make the parts that are cut to size flexible in the assembly. That should drive the assembled compenent to the size you desire without changing the original model's dimensions.
