I have duplicated an object- it was a generic of a family table- however I selected onlt the generic, and none of its instances- however- its is now pulling the orignal part, and its istances. HOW DO I FIX THISAND HOW DO I AVOID THIS IN THE FUTURE> I was in a rush, so I may have done something different, but I can say I have ever had this problem in the past. HELP!!!!

If you need to duplicate a table in Intralink, I find its best to do one of two things:

1)Either delete the family table in the generic (and save) before duplicating

2)or duplicate the generic and all its instances and delete the family table afterwards.

With option 1, you will also need to update the original family table models or make sure not to check it in. Hope this helps.

Selectthe Generic

Duplicate objects, say No Dependency

If the Dependency is NOthe generic becomes standalone part(without family table) while duplicating to a new name.

Now you can add thecreateas your wish.....

Thanks
