Intralink 8.0 Done?

I recently heard froma couple of people including a VAR that Intralink 8.0 will not have anymore releases and that they are working on alternatives. Anyone else hear this?


I did not see anything on the PTC site and cannot get an answer when the next build of 8 is due.

Did you check the Product Update Calendar?

It shows Intralink8 M040 in Mar/Apr and M050 in Q3, 2007.


It also shows Intralink9 in Q2/Q3, 2007 and X-12 (Intralink10) in Q1, 2008.


What other products does your VAR sell?

He was saying go with PDMLink. I was surprised to hear that they were not giving a date for the next version of Intralink.


He is strickly a PTC Var.

PDMLink has its value, but it also has its complexities. If you only need to manage a single site or just a few users, then Intralink8 is fine. If you have multiple, global sites, want configuration management and the bells and whistles, then you need PDMLink.
