invalid view for showing BOM balloon

i cant get any bom balloons on my drawing. i inserted some custom views on the drawing and now it wont let me place balloons on the components. i tried placing them by component, by view and every way i know of and it keeps telling me "invalid view for showing bom balloons for the region. any ideas as to what is happening?

Set for repeat region same assembly/representation as used for views or opposite (use for views same assembly/representation which set for BOM).

Are you using more than one assembly on a drawing? It sounds like your repeat region is not associated with the views you are trying to dimension which I can see happening if you have more than one assembly model in a drawing.

i am using only one assembly. i actually got one view to show some balloons after my first post but cant get the rest to work. i tried removing the table and setting the region again and thats how i got the one view to work but the others still wont.

Did you create your repeat regionto referencethe Master Rep and the views with simplified representations?

i have no idea. i am self taught with proe and the templates i use were setup by osmeone else. i just create the drawing and the bom builds itself. im not sure how she set everything up.

Select the view that you can get the ballons on right mouse click and select properties. Select View States under Categories and check to see if there is a Simplified Representation specified. Do the same for the views you can't get the ballons to work with.

view state is greyed out on my list. the lady who set up proe did all kinds of complicated custom things that i havent been able to work through. im wondering if this is going to be another one.

"Set for repeat region same assembly/representation as used for views " i.e. "x141005_retracted", " master rep" and you can get balloonson 3 of these views.

You have two assembly models associated with the drawing. Try creating a second table for the other assembly making sure the index values correspond in the two tables. Try applying the ballons you want to the other views. You can then place one of the tables on a layer and hide it.

its considered 2 models even if it is one model and in a family table i set the retracted and extended dimensions for the changes? im so confused. im not even sure how to create another table. thanks for all the help but i think im going to have to figure out something different so you guys dont have to sit here and babysit me all day. i really appreciate everything you helped me with but apparently i have barely scratched the surface with proe and i am getting in to deep with this one. i just wished my boss would send me to some training sometime. thanks again.

Select entire table - RMB - copy table

MENU: Table>Repeat region>Model/Rep - (select new table) >Select desired instance (model, assy...)
